Employer nominated visas allow you to live and work in Australia for an eligible Australian employer who has nominated you for a position in their business.
Employer Nominated visas have two categories:
- Temporary employer sponsored visas, which include the Subclass 482 Visa Temporary Work Visa and the Subclass 407 Training Visa
- Permanent employer nominated visas, which include the Subclass 186 Employer Nominated Visa (ENS) and the Subclass 187 Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme Visa (RSMS)

The Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage Visa
The Subclass 482 visa allows you work in Australia for a nominating employer for up to four years. Once you have found an eligible employer willing to sponsor you, the process of obtaining the visa is relatively quick. Eligible employers include your own business, even where it is a new company setup.
Occupations on the STSOL List (Short-Term Skilled Occupations) will be eligible for visas
of up to two years
Occupations on the MLTSSL (Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List) will be eligible
for up to four years visa

The Subclass 186 Employer Nominated (ENS) visa
The Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Subclass 186 visa is a permanent residence visa allowing you to live and work anywhere in Australia for a nominating employer. This visa may be granted via direct entry or via a transitional stream once you have worked in the same position for a nominating employer on a 457 visa for a minimum of two years.
The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) subclass 187 visa.
The Subclass 187 visa is also a permanent residence visa allowing you to live and work in regional areas of Australia for a nominating employer. This visa also has two streams; either direct entry or via the transitional stream after you have worked for the same employer on a 482 Medium Term Stream visa for three years.
